SkinVive Micro-droplet hyaluronic acid for a lit-from-within glow

SkinVive is a skin booster that evenly injects micro-droplet hyaluronic acid into the dermis to improve the skin's ability to retain moisture and its radiance. The small hyaluronic acid droplets act as moisture reservoirs in the dermis, helping the skin stay hydrated with less tightness. It is an Allergan Aesthetics product that is FDA approved in the US and MFDS (Korean FDA) approved.

We consider it first for those whose makeup does not sit smoothly and whose skin feels very tight due to inner dryness, or whose skin seems to have lost its glow. However, it is not intended for volume or lifting, so if hollowness or sagging is your main concern we will recommend a different treatment. At consultation we determine whether the dryness is on the surface or inner dryness, then advise you.

The treatment takes about 15-25 minutes, and we describe the pain as low. Topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to reduce discomfort. How it feels may vary with individual sensitivity.

We advise not irritating the injection sites on the day of treatment, and most people can wear makeup as usual from the next day. Injection marks may remain from the day of treatment up to about 1 day, and temporary bruising may also occur. Recovery speed differs by area, so we will go over this with you at your visit.

Many people notice changes in hydration and radiance from around 2-4 weeks after treatment. Results typically last several months, and we recommend maintenance around every 6 months. How long results last varies with lifestyle and skin condition.

Both are based on hyaluronic acid, but their formulation and particle design differ. These differences may also lead to differences in how long results last and how the injection feels. We compare which method suits your skin condition at consultation.

SkinVive focuses on replenishing hydration and radiance with hyaluronic acid, while Rejuran focuses on restoring a thinned, damaged skin foundation with PN. If inner dryness and loss of radiance are your main concerns we consider SkinVive first; if your skin feels noticeably thinner and less firm, we consider Rejuran first. If you have both concerns, we may plan to combine them.

It is sometimes planned together with Rejuran, Juvelook, Botox, and others depending on the goal. Whether to do them on the same day or space them apart is decided after consultation, considering the treatment areas and the load on your skin. If you have had any treatments recently, please let us know at your visit.

Temporary marks or bruising may appear at the injection sites, and they usually settle within a few days. Be sure to tell us at your visit if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking anticoagulants, or have ever had a hypersensitivity reaction to ingredients such as hyaluronic acid. Treatment may be postponed if there is inflammation or infection at the injection site.

For the first 24 hours, do not rub or press the injection sites, and avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, and saunas on the day of treatment. Keeping up a regular moisturizing routine helps maintain results, and we will suggest a routine suited to your skin at your visit. We recommend waiting 2 weeks before massage or intensive skin treatments.
