07FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does Juvelook work, and how is it different from Juvelook Volume?

Juvelook is an injectable that combines PDLLA (a biodegradable polymer) with hyaluronic acid, prompting the skin to produce its own collagen while the material gradually breaks down. Rather than filling the area instantly, it works by building change over time. Juvelook is used for texture concerns such as fine lines, pores, and shallow scars, while Juvelook Volume is used to restore volume in hollow areas; which one suits you is decided after we confirm your goal at consultation.

Who is Juvelook suited to, and when is another treatment a better choice?

We consider it for those concerned about skin texture, or those who want gradual, natural-looking volume change without the feel of filler. On the other hand, if you want to see volume right after injection, a hyaluronic acid filler may be a better fit. Even the same hollowness can call for a different approach depending on its cause, so we decide together after consultation.

How long does the treatment take, and how painful is it?

The treatment itself takes about 20-30 minutes, and we describe the pain as low to moderate. Topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to reduce discomfort during injection. How it feels varies by area and individual sensitivity.

Will I bruise or swell? What should I be careful about afterward?

Slight swelling or bruising may appear for about 1-3 days, and it usually settles within a few days. For the first 24 hours, do not rub or press the injection sites, and avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, and saunas on the day of treatment. We recommend waiting 2 weeks before massage or intensive skin treatments, and please contact the clinic right away if pain worsens or you notice any unexpected changes.

When will I notice results, and how long do they last?

Because Juvelook needs time for collagen to form, many people notice change as sessions accumulate rather than right after treatment. We usually check the first response at around 2-4 weeks before proceeding to the next session. Results have been reported to last over 1 year after completing the course, but how long they last varies by individual depending on skin condition and lifestyle.

How many sessions do I need?

A typical course is 2-3 sessions at 3-4 week intervals. It is difficult to judge the effect from 1 session, and the change becomes clearer once the course is complete. The timing of maintenance after the course is decided together based on your progress.

How is it different from filler?

Filler is a volumizing material that creates volume the moment it is injected, whereas Juvelook stimulates collagen production so the area fills in gradually. Filler may suit areas that need defined shape, such as the nose or chin, while Juvelook may suit natural change across broader areas. Depending on the goal, the two are sometimes planned together.

How do I choose between Juvelook and Rejuran?

If regenerating and restoring the skin's foundation is the main goal, we consider Rejuran first; if the goal is texture improvement or volume restoration through collagen production, we consider Juvelook first. If you have both concerns, we may recommend combining them. We make a recommendation suited to your goal after assessing your skin at consultation.

Can I have it together with other treatments?

It is sometimes combined with Rejuran, Potenza, filler, and other treatments depending on the goal. Whether to do them on the same day or space them apart is decided after consultation, taking into account the load on your skin and the order of treatments. If you have had any treatments recently, please let us know at your visit.

Are there side effects? Is there anything I should tell you before treatment?

Adverse reactions such as nodules (small lumps) have rarely been reported, so as a rule a board-certified dermatologist injects it directly, following the set dose and technique. Be sure to tell us at your visit if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking anticoagulants, or have ever had a hypersensitivity reaction to the product's ingredients. Treatment may be postponed if there is inflammation or infection at the injection site.

How much does it cost, and how do I book?

The cost depends on the product, volume, and number of sessions, and is confirmed after consultation. Reference prices can be found on the price list on our website. Juvelook Volume requires time to prepare the product in advance, so it must be booked at least 1 week ahead.
