How we approach it
The same device can be run very differently. This is how Grays approaches this treatment.
We do not limit Skin Botox to the effect of injecting into shallow layers to temporarily smooth the dermis.
Taking into account the tension interactions of the surrounding muscles and fascia, we apply it at different depths by area, focusing on enhancing lifting effects and helping prevent sagging.

02What to expect
Changes over time
Rather than targeting just the shallow dermis, Grays Dermatology varies the injection depth by area, taking into account the tension interactions of the surrounding muscles and fascia.

Tiny injection marks or swelling may appear, but you can usually return to daily life the same day.

The phase in which effects begin to appear. Timing varies by area and individual.

The point at which effects stabilize; this is when we check how natural your expressions look and whether adjustment is needed.
Maintenance phase
How long results last depends on injection area, depth, dose, and the individual, and is advised at your visit.
Progress check
To help prevent resistance, the retreatment interval is decided after evaluating progress, keeping to an appropriate interval.

07FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is Skin Botox, and how is it different from regular Botox?
Skin Botox is a treatment in which botulinum toxin is injected in small, divided amounts over a wide area of the face. Whereas regular Botox is used to reduce the movement of specific muscles such as on the glabella, forehead, or masseter, Skin Botox is spread across multiple points with the aim of caring for texture and firmness. Which approach suits you is decided after examining your concerns and muscle condition.
How does Grays Dermatology perform Skin Botox?
We do not stop at injecting into shallow layers to temporarily smooth the dermis; we also take into account the tension interactions of the surrounding muscles and fascia. By varying the injection depth by area, we focus on enhancing lifting effects and helping prevent sagging. Injection points and depths are designed individually based on facial structure and the movement of expression muscles.
Who is Skin Botox suited to, and what are its limits?
We consider it for those concerned about texture such as fine lines and pores, or whose firmness has decreased and sagging has begun. On the other hand, deeply etched wrinkles or pronounced volume loss improve to a limited degree with Skin Botox alone, so filler or lifting treatments may be considered alongside. We identify the cause at consultation and then advise the appropriate approach.
Which formulations do you use?
Grays Dermatology stocks 3 formulations: Botulax, Coretox, and Xeomin. The formulation is decided after consultation, once we have checked your resistance history and treatment goal. We explain the differences between formulations at your visit.
How painful is it, and how long does it take?
Because injections are made at multiple points, there is a stinging sensation, and topical numbing cream is applied as needed to reduce discomfort. Treatment time depends on the injection coverage and is advised at your visit. How it feels varies by area and individual sensitivity.
Can I return to daily life right after treatment? What should I watch out for?
Tiny injection marks or swelling may appear, but you can usually return to daily life the same day. For 4 hours after treatment, do not rub the treated area or lie down, and avoid alcohol, saunas, and strenuous exercise on the day of treatment. It is important not to irritate the injection sites.
When do results appear, and how long do they last?
When change appears and how long it lasts depend on the injection area, depth, and dose, and are advised at your visit. With Botox-type treatments, effects typically begin after a few days and often stabilize at around 2 weeks. How long results last varies by individual.
How often should I have it? Will I develop resistance?
The retreatment interval is decided after consultation, based on when the effect wears off and your progress. There are reports that repeating large doses frequently at short intervals can lead to neutralizing antibodies (resistance). That is why we lower the risk by keeping to appropriate intervals and doses and by choosing the formulation.
Will my expressions look unnatural?
We adjust the injection depth and dose while observing muscle movement in each area, with natural expression in mind. However, depending on the injection sites and dose, facial expressions may temporarily feel unnatural. We check your progress at around 2 weeks, when the effect stabilizes, and discuss whether any adjustment is needed.
Can I have it together with other treatments?
It is sometimes planned together with lifting treatments such as Ultherapy, SkinVive, or area-specific Botox, depending on the goal. Whether to do them on the same day, and the order and interval, are decided after consultation based on skin condition and treatment areas. If you have had any treatments recently, please let us know at your visit.
Are there cases where I should not have Skin Botox?
Be sure to tell us at your visit if you have a neuromuscular disorder such as myasthenia gravis, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you take anticoagulants, bruising becomes more likely, and we also carefully assess whether to proceed if you have had a hypersensitivity reaction to the product's ingredients or have inflammation at the injection site. If you notice any unexpected changes after treatment, please contact the clinic right away.
How much does it cost, and how do I book?
The cost depends on the injection coverage, formulation, and dose, and is confirmed after consultation. Reference prices can be found on the price list on our website. To book at Grays Dermatology in Haeundae, Busan, use Naver Booking, our KakaoTalk channel, or call +82-51-710-1891; consultations are also available via LINE.
